Client Relationship & Process

Consultation: Following an initial conversation with a designer or client, I typically conduct a consultation on site, where we discuss specific ideas and I take measurements and pictures.

Proposal: From our dialogue and my notes, I assemble the necessary sketches and reference materials for a mural, or samples for a decorative finish.  I send these, with a detailed price quote, to the client.  Sometimes I include in this phase a second set of rough sketches in response to client feedback.

Contract: After the samples, sketches, and prices are agreed upon, I provide a contract and receive a deposit to secure a start date for the job.

Completion: I work within the scheduled time frame to complete the job.

It is important to me to work closely with clients and designers in order to realize what ultimately becomes a shared vision that resonates with the tone of the space, its function, and its inhabitants.

Because every job is unique, I try to integrate flexibility and the needs and scheduling limitations of the client with clarity and planning.  Murals, for example, often develop very organically, and the completion time is difficult to predict.  Conversely, murals can be done on canvas in my studio and shipped or installed later to better accommodate precise logistical challenges.  To me, travel is also an integral part of this vocation, so I’m willing to consider projects in any location, public or private.
